If you are thinking some sort of Internet police, you are absolutely wrong! NetWarden.net is NOT the Internet police. I don't think that there is really an organization that can be identified as that, if there were I would guess Interpol would be the closest thing to that idea. Actually NetWarden.net is more like an air-raid warden; guiding people to safety and trying to minimize damage during the threat of an air raid. However instead of enemy bombers in the skies over your city threatening your home and livelihood it's cyber criminals/hackers in the cyber world armed with spam, viruses, bots, worms, trojans, ad-ware, and spy-ware. Just because this happens in the cyber world does not mean the threat is virtual, your very identity lives there and your computer is the unlocked front door of your home or business.

So how does NetWarden.net do this?

The best weapon against threats from above (I mean the Internet ones) is proper information in good time before you get hit. Recognizing the threats and doing something about it to protect yourself is the best thing to do. NetWarden.net primary goal is to get information, tools and resources available in one place that everyone can use to protect themselves. Secondarily NetWarden.net provides a venue for people to communicate with each other to discuss issues on the Internet that affect everyone.
